TechInAfrica – The MAN Impact Accelerator is currently calling for applications for its 3rd cohort. The Accelerator program is aimed at startups working in the sector of mobility, transportation, and logistics that address social and environmental challenges. The program is initiated by German’s MAN Truck and Bus and Yunus Social Business.
According to Florian Stehbeck, MAN Truck and Bus Digital Innovation Manager who told Ventureburn via email, the Accelerator will seek applications from startups in Europe, South Africa, and Brazil. Stehbeck added that the upcoming cohort will also include stops in Munich, São Paulo, Johannesburg, and Lisbon.
The application for the 3rd cohort of the MAN Impact Accelerator is already open and will close on October 1st. It will set to start in November this year.
Even though the main sources of startups are from South Africa, other African startups in Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, Mozambique, and Tanzania are encouraged to apply for the Accelerator program.
To be able to join the program, startups need to have a strong focus on logistics, transport, or mobility with a prototype and has generated early revenues (preferably). In additions, they must also have a strong goal and create a tangible and measurable impact.

- Big data and smart data
- Chatbots
- Drones and aerospace
- Wearables
- Education
- Blockchain
- Internet automation
- Data analytics
- Agriculture
- Last-mile connection and distribution
- Cybersecurity
- Platforms
Selected startups will get access to MAN’s staff mentors with industry experts, access to MAN’s global network of partners, and its supply and distribution networks. Additionally, they will also get access to Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Muhammad Yunus and a global impact investor community.
