TechInAfrica — ICT Cabinet Secretary, Joe Mucheru revealed the 2018 Connected ICT Innovation Award today in Nairobi. The awards will invite young Kenyans innovators to participate in the Connected Kenya Summit that will take place at the Bomas, Kenya from October 22 to October 24, 2018.
The awards are meant for celebrating Kenyan entrepreneurs who have presented their new ICT solutions. There have been more than 45 ICT products and services awarded ever since the inaugural awards that were held at the 2011 Connected Kenya Summit.
During the launching event at the International Hotel in Nairobi, Joe Mucheru commented on the event, “We have four main focuses on this year’s Connected Awards. As technology takes a big role in these four main agendas, including manufacturing, healthcare, housing, and food security, thus, it makes me excited about what innovation we can create for these sectors. ”
The Connected Kenya Summit has been hosted for the last 10 years. The event has brought together top corporate executives and policymakers in the ICT industry as well as engage industry thought leaders in emerging trends and innovations in the ICT sector of the country.

The 2018 Connected Summit’s theme is “Building for Prosperity” and Telkom Kenya is one of the title sponsors. Speaking of delegations, more than 1,000 delegates from East Africa are supposed to attend the event.
