5 tech startups win $10,000 seed funding at the 4th Cohort of the Women In Tech Incubator

iBizAfrica Incubation center has completed its fourth cohort #SCWomenInTech.The incubation program is part of a collaboration between iBizAfrica and The Standard Chartered of Kenya. The programme ran under the theme of “Accelerating the digital economy through women-owned businesses.”

The programme received over 100 applications from businesses fixated on emerging technologies – However, only 10 were chosen. These ten went through a 12-month training program including individualized coaching and mentorship.

The top five winners were Runnovate (virtual assistant partner for enterpreneurs), The Viwanda Africa Group, The Mandevu BeardCare (Kenya’s first all-organic male grooming company), Hali Halisi, and Ecilafilms (creates authentic African content).

After a rigorous judging process on 18th May 2021, the top five startups were chosen. Each had the opportunity to walk away with $10,000 in grant income. The capital infusion should help the startups scale up their businesses.

@iBizAfrica is a startup incubator located in Strathmore’s @iLabAfrica helping entrepreneurs land conducive working spaces seed funding and mentorship.
