TechInAfrica – After a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between Nigerian Communication Satellite (NIGCOMSAT) and the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC), the development of 5G fasten its seatbelt after the previous controversies.

The further development leads to NCC CEO Umar Danbatta inaugurating a committee on Spectrum action for the to-be-deployed 5g frequency.

The MoU has agreed on a mid-range frequency of 4.6 GHz – 4.2 GHz., which is the most suitable and appropriate frequency for the network.

Within the Committee’s mandate is an Information Memorandum to be developed that includes details of the Spectrum, pre-qualification process, auction process, the telecom market, and the overall timetable, and that it will be the base to early deployment of the network, followed by an award process to grant the licenses for the elements.
