Sasol has selected 7 small, micro and medium enterprises within the Sasolburg area around the Free State to participate in their newly launched 24-month Sasol Business Accelerator (SBA) programme. The businesses chosen are in engineering maintenance, manufacturing, HVAC, hired equipment, recyclables, and manufacturing.
The 7 were arrived at in through a 4-week selection process carried out by Zevoli, an independent third-party company run by Sasol and vital in the selection and screening processes of candidates through the Sasol Business Accelerator programme.
The applications to the Sasol programme were made public in May and cover SMMEs situated in Emfuleni, Metsimaholo, and Ngwathe Local Municipalities. The programme has an application deadline of Wednesday 17 June.
Sasol got 200 applications for the programme SMMEs outside those municipal areas. The seven successful SMMEs now have to undergo a three day induction that gives them an overview of the company’s operations and highlights the significance of personal safety in relation to the accelerator programme.
The 2 year SBA programme begins this week and covers:
- Development support
- Networking
- Mentoring and coaching
- Infrastructure support
- Funding support
