TechInAfrica – FlySafair, an airline based in Johannesburg, South Africa was established in August 2013, before announcing its new partnership with the South African Rugby Union (SARU) in March 2017. FlySafair boasts a total of seventeen aircrafts for their fleet to date, as well as serving seven domestic destinations across South Africa. Recently, the company has partnered with Mobicred to provide passengers with the option to fly on credit—meaning, users can fly on Monday and pay the flight on Tuesday. Existing and new users of Mobicred will be able to benefit from this newly augmented system.

Kirby Gordon, FlySafair’s Head of Sales and Distribution spoke that this idea is one of the fervent steps taken to further invest and improve FlySafair’s customer experience. Continually investing in the creation of exceptional customer service, the company sees that the love of flying to get from point A to point B may not always be facilitated by the customers’ financial capabilities.
Thus, the partnership with Mobicred serves as a method to address these problems—enabling passengers to fly to their favourite destinations without letting their pockets stand in the way. With a wide array of payment options including Zapper, Visa Checkout and flight vouchers, customers can worry less if they’re cash-strapped but is in dire need to be in another region of South Africa.
On the other hand, Jason Sive, CEO of Mobicred confessed that the company is in high spirits partnering up with FlySafair, with both companies sharing the same goal to put customers above all else. “FlySafair is a highly innovative business and we are proud to be part of their vision to make air travel more accessible,” Sive added.
