@iBizAfrica alongside Standard Chartered just invested Ksh 1 million to help expand and scale 5 women innovator businesses. The innovators were chosen from a pool of 380 companies who competed for the prize. The winners were shortlisted through virtual engagement due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Here are the teams that bagged the prize:
Taste Afrique – a manufacturing company founded by Winnie Chiwai and Anzazi Kiti to distribute and sell mixed spices and natural food seasoning products called Chibundiro.
Arbes Biotech – An agricultural startup founded by Rachael Akeyo that generates agricultural seedlings via culture technology to provide quality plant seedlings to partners and clients across East Africa.
Soul Food – A Swahili restaurant serving Nigerian and Swahili cuisine that has created 6 virtual restaurants where one can get convenient, fast and diverse meals.
BenaCare – Was founded by Naomi Monari and provides home nursing services to people with illnesses that inhibit their mobility.
Nature’s Touch – Founded by Caroline Ngugi and Diana Ochola who derive their passion from adopting natural personal care regimes in their lives. The information on health and wellness delivered to the public helps individuals and their families meet their daily grooming needs.
