Kenyan fintech startup secures investment from GreenHouse Capital

Popote, a Kenyan fintech startup just announced an undisclosed sum in funding from GreenHouse Capital. Popote is a digital payments platform that helps businesses transact smoothly, check fraud and access accounting management, and track their expenses. Launched in 2014, Popote simplifies the management of payments for companies particularly the repetitive tasks such as paying casual labor.

Sam Wanjohi is the founder and CEO of PopotePay. As a digital payments platform, the startup hopes to attract businesses of all sizes to make their day-to-day payments on its solution, which will allow them to focus on more pressing matters.

GreenHouse Capital is Subsaharan Africa’s largest fintech investment fund by portfolio size having supported 23 companies drawn from 8 countries. The fund identifies, invests, and accelerates the technologies powering Africa’s future.
