ImaliPay and Glovo just launched ImailPay’s embedded finance solution intent on meeting the needs of Glovo drivers and riders. This partnership ensures easy, effortless, and efficient financial products for the drivers and riders.

Glovo, an on-demand courier service that buys, collects, and delivers products ordered via its mobile application. Glovo was founded in Spain in 2015 and has operated in the Kenyan market since 2018. Among its Kenyan retail and fast-food partners are Chicken Inn and Carrefour.

ImaliPay is a financial wellbeing platform for Africa’s gig economy workers offering finance options to Glovo’s riders and drivers in the support of their workflows, productivity, and work environments. Glovo’s rider network offers the market digital financial products on a Glovo driver’s day-to-day life, creating a smooth operational environment.

ImaliPay has its own criteria for credit scoring the Glovo riders with products that meet their credit risk profile and offering saving options. ImaliPay will leverage its “Buy Now Pay Later” marketplace partners in supporting the availability of products and services from smartphones, to fuel to spare parts.

ImaliPay is planning to offer cash advances and a savings product in the near future. This will be done through an automated WhatsApp bot. Through this partnership, Glovo riders can access their products in real-time.

Priscilla Muhiu, Glovo’s general manager described the partnership as key in supporting the riders with a safety net on “fuel financing, Smartphone financing, personal and accident insurance cover and savings.”
