Cape Town startup Voyc won an award at the 2021 Blue Tulip Award in Finance & Prosperity. The award is hosted by Accenture in the Netherlands. Voyc was represented by Lethabo Motsoaledi (CTO) at the Blue Tulip Awards. Voyc carried the final round due to its speech analytics software. Over 50 promising startups participated in the 3-month program’s Finance & Prosperity category.

Voyc offers a speech quality management solution for contact centers that helps improve compliance, accelerate and optimize the handling of complaints, identify and protect vulnerable customers, and bridge the trust between financial service companies and customers. The company is looking to monitor the calls of 200 million end customers.

The startup was founded in 2015 by Matthew Westaway and Lethabo Motsoaledi, Engineering graduates at UCT (University of Cape Town). They, later on, formed the first version of Voyc – a solution manually analyzing conversations. They took part in the prestigious Techstars SAP.iO accelerator in Berlin where they got exposure to the world of contact centers – completely changing their perception of customer service.

This year’s theme was aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goals to eliminate poverty, provide decent work, and increase economic growth. Accenture is looking to pick the most promising startups among Europe’s startups. All participants went through several rounds where they engaged with partners, media, industry experts, and their fellow innovators.

Commenting in a press release shared on Voy.ai, Lethabo Motsoaledi the CTO & co-founder said they were “honored and humbled” to be chosen among the top 50 great innovators across Europe. He went on to equate the experience customers go through as having a direct reflection on the company.
