TechInAfrica – Nigerian can now book hotels and other services with the launch of local app, Aura, which was endorsed by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Abuja.
The app was an initiative by Transcorp, a diversified conglomerate with strategic investment in the hospitality, agribusiness and energy sectors.
Vice President of Nigeria, Yemi Osinbajo shared his thought on the app, feeling intrigued with the concept of the app, which is similar to Bookings.com, but with more local-friendly features.
“I actually went to the website to better acquint myself with the service. I downloaded the app on my phone and on my iPad and I found the dashboard was quite easy to navigate,” said Osinbajo.
He continue saying that the Hotel is helping customers choosing the best accommodation.
“There are copious offerings of hotels, short let apartmenets, and restaurants and I have found the response interesting. I think this is great and it will help revive the hospitality industry especially after the downturn in the aftermath of COVID-19.”

Dupe Olusola, chief executive officer (CEO) of Transcorp Hotels, said, “Aura is a digital hospitality platform that gives people the opportunity, at the touch of their fingertips, to book exciting accommodations, restaurants, spas and other hospitality derivatives at all locations in Nigeria.”
