Digital healthtech Bypa-ss has raised $1 million in pre-seed funding from investors such as Magic Fund, Acuity Ventures, Plug and Play, Launch Africa, and other regional and foreign venture capital firms. The Pre-Seed round equips Bypa-ss with an arsenal that expands its network visibility to over 3,000 healthcare providers.
Bypa-ss was founded in 2019 by Andrew Saad. The startups’ flagship product is HealthTag that services an ecosystem of physicians, hospitals, and patients. HealthTag works both as a mobile application and a physical card that first began in Shebin El Kom, Menofia before expanding to five other cities across Egypt.
Saad reveals that the company’s customer base has expanded by 150% since the start of the year. Earlier on Bypa-ss raised an angel round of $150,000. This brings the total amount raised by the healthtech to $1.15 million. Thriving companies in the healthtech space are Yodawy, Vezeeta, and Chefaa offering telemedicine, diagnostic, and other pharmaceutical products.
