3attar, a Cairo-based foodtech startup has secured a seed investment from AUC Angels, UI Investment, and several other angel investors. Since 2019, 3attar allows users to order healthy food products online and gain access to a wide variety of healthy food-focused recipes and diet programmes. The B2C platform provides value to its customers through online healthy product offerings, delivery services, diet consultation programmes, and live coaching programs offering additional subscription and e-payment methods.
3attar’s support to the local healthcare community covers at-risk individuals lacking the resources awareness and products necessary to alleviate their conditions and improve their health. For instance, individuals suffering from obesity, allergies, diabetes, and hypertension. Healthy individuals among such as dieters, athletes, and fitness professionals who maintain and lead healthy food intake are another client segment.
Mariam Kamel of AUC Angels pointed out that the specialized e-commerce space has seen an increased inflow of angel investments and venture capital in the past year. 3attar works towards this by addressing the growing trends towards healthier living.
During the Covid-19 crisis, the company expanded its offering from a few hundred products to over 3000 rendering it the biggest health shopping destination in Egypt. The unique logo/name combination expanded to grow into its own private label generating 20% of its overall business model revenue.
