SEACOM, a company that operates cable networks in Africa, and British Telecommunications (BT) jointly made the announcement of a strategic alliance that would equip SEACOM with BT’s cybersecurity solutions to provide new networking, security, and communications solutions to enterprise customers in Africa and to enhance the level of protection afforded to its internal infrastructure.
SEACOM will be utilizing BT’s services to strengthen its position further as Africa’s preeminent Internet connectivity provider and owner of the continent’s most comprehensive ICT infrastructure to extend its offering of services directed at African businesses, the company is leveraging its vendor ties and worldwide knowledge.
Access to BT’s Cloud Security Incident Event Management (SIEM) platform will soon be available to SEACOM’s clientele. Data, business applications, and users exist outside of an organization’s conventional network boundaries in the modern business environment.
SIEM (System for Information and Event Management) technologies offer real-time visibility and monitoring of an organization’s whole IT infrastructure, offering a suitable security layer on top of SEACOM’s existing information and communication technology solutions.
With a global network of dedicated Security Operations Centres (SOCs) that are staffed around the clock, BT can defend some of the largest companies in the world against a wide variety of cyberattacks that are constantly developing. Over 3000 cyber security professionals employed by BT are available to assist customers in detecting, analyzing, and promptly resolving cybersecurity events as they occur.
