The Chat for Impact Accelerator is a program that gives organizations working for social change access to $500,000 in funding and further assistance to help them maximize their influence on WhatsApp and is currently accepting applications.
To be considered for the accelerator’s iteration in 2022, businesses focusing on global social change are encouraged to submit an application, which will provide financing, coaching, and support for developing a messaging service similar to WhatsApp to boost their overall impact.
One of the ten online Chat for Impact Bootcamp, each of which will concentrate on a different geographical location or field of social impact, will have one hundred other groups participating as a part of the initiative.
Each group will get help and resources to sign up for, make, and start using a WhatsApp Chat service.
Up to twenty organizations will be selected to receive funding support of $25,000 each and participate in the Chat for Impact Accelerator, which will begin in October and last for six weeks online. They will receive expert coaching during this period in further developing and scaling their WhatsApp service for social impact.
After the program, which will take place at the 2022 Chat for Impact Summit, the participants chosen to participate in the accelerator will present and demonstrate their WhatsApp chat service.
According to Ben Supple, who serves as the head of civic engagement for WhatsApp at Meta, “We’re thrilled to continue Chat for Impact.” in collaboration with Turn.io and Praekelt.org to assist social impact groups all around the world in their work and help them advance.
The accelerator provides participants with an incredible opportunity to collaborate directly with a select set of organizations to broaden the scope of their WhatsApp service’s effect and reach. We cannot wait to see what these organizations come up with and the difference they make in the world.
Applications can be submitted online until the 21st of September.
