According to a recent announcement by the firm, the Netflix Creative Equity Scholarship Fund (CESF) will now be available to students studying film and television in the West and Central African region.

Applications to study at universities in Nigeria, Gabon, Benin, Ghana, and Benin are now being accepted by prospective students.

A scholarship fund valued at one million United States dollars will be made available to students from Sub-Saharan Africa as part of the global Netflix Creative Equity Fund. This fund was established in 2021 and will be distributed to a variety of initiatives over the subsequent five years to build a robust and diverse talent pool across the globe.

The Netflix CESF is anticipated to become fully operational throughout the region at the beginning of the academic year, which begins in 2022. Dalberg will serve as an implementation partner for Netflix in the West and Central Africa region, and Netflix will work with Dalberg to administer funds.

The scholarship fund will pay for the participants’ tuition, accommodation, books, and other living expenses at specific Nigerian partner schools for the academic year 2022, where the recipients have been accepted to pursue programs of study in television and cinema.

Students who have been accepted to pursue studies in several fields related to film and television will be eligible to apply for access to the fund beginning with the academic year of 2022.
