Geidea, one of the largest Fintech companies in the region based on market share, has announced a strategic partnership with Visa, the world leader in digital payments, to bring Geidea’s advanced payment solutions to the Egyptian market.

As part of the strategic partnership, Visa will invest in adding new payment solutions that can be processed through Geidea’s point-of-sale terminals. This will allow Visa to provide merchants and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across the country with payment solutions that are both seamless and secure.

To consolidate these services, which play an essential role in the development of Egypt’s payment sector, the two parties signed a long-term strategic partnership to provide innovative services to small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and merchants in Egypt. These services include by-phone services and electronic trading services.

Ahmed Nader, the General Manager of Geidea Egypt, said, “Geidea is committed to supporting merchants and helping small businesses thrive in the digital economy, in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030.”

Our relationship with Visa will advance digital transformation and financial inclusion by offering businesses modern digital payment solutions, allowing them to offer their customers a convenient, secure, and seamless checkout experience.

Geidea Egypt’s Senior Commercial Director Ahmed Magdy said, “Geidea wants to use the latest e-payments technology to make “Tap-on-Phone” payments easy and safe.

Geidea’s robust infrastructure lets it offer merchants and small and medium-sized businesses the fastest PoSs.

Our organization is continually looking for partners to help us achieve our objective of offering users a seamless experience and the best solutions possible.

As a result, we are delighted to collaborate with Visa, as Visa’s vast network is a crucial differentiator in providing our customers with the greatest flexibility.

Essam El Daly, Visa’s Head of Merchant Sales and Acquiring for North Africa, the Levant, and Pakistan, said, “Such strategic partnerships help us advance the future of digital payments in the region, ensuring seamless services for our clients and a bigger market share for everyone involved.”

As we carefully integrate the demands of merchants and customers in our solutions, these enabling tools are critical to attaining the financial inclusion we desire through our efforts at Visa.”

Geidea was started in 2008 and now has more than 700,000 payment terminals (PoS) in the region and works with 150,000 trusted merchants, including regional and international brands, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and e-commerce players.
