“Applications Open for African Incubators and Accelerators in Orange Corners Subsidy Programme”.

Share

Orange Corners has announced launching a new subsidy plan to ensure a sustainable future for its entrepreneurial training courses for the next five years.

The program will fund a local entrepreneurial training program (incubators/accelerators) and related activities for young people aged 18-35, such as mentorship, business development services, masterclasses, workshops, and all related administrative and program management needs.

The Orange Corner’s subsidy program is now accepting proposals from possible partners in a few countries and areas.

The software will be made available to 16 countries and areas in two stages. Phase 1 will take proposals from Algeria, Angola, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Egypt, Ghana, Iraq (Baghdad), Morocco, and Mozambique from June 5 to June 30, 2023.

Meanwhile, Phase 2, which will run from September 4–29, 2023, will accept bids from Burundi, Côte d’Ivoire, Iraq (Kurdistan Region), Mali, Nigeria, Sudan, South Africa, and South Sudan.

To apply for the grant, there are two steps. First, applicants must send a mandatory quick scan or short proposal. An Orange Corners program advisor for their country will review this and give a non-binding suggestion on whether to submit a full proposal.

For each target location, only one applicant will be granted a subsidy. A maximum of €750,000 is available for each target site, covering 75% of the total project costs.

The subsidy scheme is open to local businesses and civil society organizations registered in the target location. Applicants must have experience creating and managing entrepreneurial training programs (incubation/acceleration), project management, marketing and communication, acquisition, networking, and project-related monitoring, evaluation, learning, and reporting.

Interested parties can learn more about the subsidy program, application procedure, and requirements on the Orange Corners website. The program invites applicants to apply well before the deadlines mentioned above. The full application results will be released within 13 weeks after the full proposal application deadline.
