Accessing electricity has long been a major hurdle for most African nations. As the International Energy Agency (IEA) reports, approximately 580 million Africans lacked access to electricity in 2019. This statistic represents over half of the global population without this essential resource.

The energy predicament is not lost on Nigeria, a country grappling with its own challenges within the sector. Issues ranging from inadequate power generation capacity to complex hurdles in managing energy infrastructure contribute to the intricate web of obstacles impeding energy access in the West African nation.
