Amini.ai, a climate-tech startup headquartered in Nairobi, is dedicated to using artificial intelligence and satellite technology to address Africa’s environmental data gap. The company has secured $4 million in seed funding to expand into new markets.
The funding round was spearheaded by Salesforce Ventures, the investment branch of Salesforce, along with Female Founders Fund, a venture capital firm focused on supporting women-led businesses. Previous investors Pale Blue Dot, Superorganism, and Satgana joined in this funding effort.
Founded by AI innovation and technology expert Kate Kallot, Amini is driven to tackle Africa’s environmental data challenges and facilitate large-scale natural capital regeneration.
“We are developing technology tailored specifically for Africa to lead an economic transformation for the continent’s one billion people. Through our efforts to reduce risks in the initial stages of the global agricultural value chain, we focus on enhancing transparency, facilitating data access, and promoting greater economic inclusion for farmers. This presents a unique opportunity to initiate positive feedback loops that can reshape global food systems,” stated Kallot.
