Sanofi French multinational pharmaceutical company runs Afric@Tech. Afric@Tech is mandated to identify and reward startups practices in the entire health sector.

Africa@Tech’s main goal is to provide healthcare solutions through improved access to medicine and to enhance innovation in health care in Africa.

The three fundamental problems facing the institution comprise of inadequate health professionals to handle chronic diseases, diagnostic of diseases and telemedicine.

According to Thibault Crosnier Leconte, the institution is committed to promoting access to medicine and healthcare services in the continent. Thibault is the country chairman and RX general manager for Sanofi South Africa.

A jury regulatory body will conduct evaluation and selection of startups which will participate in the Viva Technology event. The successful startups will receive financial, mentoring and coaching assistance from the Sanofi.
