Telegram Introduces Paid Content Sharing for Channel Creators

Share

Telegram recently introduced a new feature allowing creators to share paid content directly through its platform. This update enables users to support their favorite content creators or monetize their own content through the use of “Stars,” Telegram’s digital currency initially intended for purchasing digital goods from bots and mini-apps.

With this enhancement, users can now unlock exclusive content on channels using Stars, making it easier for creators to earn from their work and for users to enjoy premium content without leaving the app.

Telegram also enables channel owners to convert Stars into Toncoin, a cryptocurrency operating on The Open Network (TON) blockchain. This allows creators to translate Stars into tangible value, trading Toncoin on various exchanges or converting it directly into their bank accounts.

For users, earning Stars offers additional benefits. Apart from unlocking content, Stars can be used to receive discounts on ads, assisting channels in enhancing their promotional efforts effectively.

Telegram’s recent updates extend beyond these functionalities. They have introduced a convenient Mini App bar, facilitating seamless access to mini-apps without frequent reloading. Furthermore, new features for discovering stories via hashtags and location tags enhance app usability and engagement.
