Colis.ma, a Moroccan cross-border logistics startup, has secured $300,000 in pre-seed funding from Witamax, a privately backed venture capital firm. With the funds, Colis.ma plans to enhance its presence in Morocco’s five largest regions and six European countries while also expanding into Africa, beginning with West Africa.
Meanwhile, the startup is planning an upcoming fundraising round for early 2026 to help it capture a larger market share in the logistics sector.
CEO Issam Darui founded Colis.ma in 2022, and the startup claims to have delivered over 50,000 parcels to more than 55 destinations across six European countries. Highlighting its accomplishments in less than two years, the company reported a fivefold growth in the last 12 months, leading to a 380% increase in Annual Recurring Revenue in 2023.
The logistics startup serves individuals, particularly those with family ties between Morocco and Europe, as well as small-to-medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in sectors such as cosmetics, artisanal goods, and organic products. However, it aims to connect more SMEs from various sectors with their clients in Europe.
Colis.ma collaborates with various partners to optimize its operations and deliver better services to its clients.
Issam Darui stated that the funding will allow the startup to expand its geographic coverage and enhance service quality. “Our goal is to become a key player in logistics between Africa and Europe, offering innovative technological solutions to a sector undergoing transformation,” the CEO said.
Before raising $300,000, Colis.ma secured $50,000 from the African investor The Baobab Network after participating in their accelerator program, and in February 2024, it won a $45,000 grant.
The startup is not the only logistics company operating in Morocco. Among others, Logidoo, a logistics startup based in Morocco, has been in the market since 2019. In February 2024, the company, which offers logistics services and real-time parcel tracking, raised $1.55 million in seed funding to scale up and increase its market share.
In July 2024, it received a $50,000 grant to develop and promote artificial intelligence (AI) solutions for Africa’s logistics market, aimed at simplifying transactions and streamlining transport operations.
