The urge to get revolutionary businesses by the use of innovation has attracted people from both genders. Women entrepreneurs are also joining their male counterparts.  A good example of such group of women entrepreneurs is the Federation of Women Entrepreneur Associations (FEWA). FEWA is a Women Entrepreneurs Organization based in Kenya. The organization was founded by Ms. Joanne Mwangi (Yelbert). Furthermore, Mwangi is the FEWA serving the chairperson.

FEWA is on the verge of putting up an event that will fully transform how the women view innovation. The event will highlight ways through which women can instill innovation into their businesses. The event will take place on 4th April 2018. It will operate on the theme “Breakthrough to Excellence: Uncovering Business Opportunities that give you a Competitive Edge”.

The best and constructive way of changing the traditional way of carrying out business in Africa is through investing in innovation. Various states have to channel much of their resources into investing into innovation. This is even easier in this century given the level of technology that is there already. Kenya is well known globally as the home of the mobile money payment. This shows potential Africa is having in the innovative space. It is still possible to leverage innovation across all the industries to maximize the continent’s potential.

Innovation is in a position to improve the economy in many ways. But for that to take place innovation should go hand in hand with good skills. It is the role of the state to ensure that citizens get the necessary required skills. The high number of women population in the continent should be well utilized in achieving development.  Women population amounts to more than 50% of the whole African population. The high number should be channeled to the political, economic and social sphere. This will help to reach the African economic growth potential.

The fear by women to advance in their motherlands, 28% of them move outside Africa. They do this to look for good job opportunities. This is according to a report released by Ernst and Young. The number is more than that of men which is at 17%. It now calls for the African women entrepreneurs to come out and look for solutions to this.
