The African youthful population is the most vulnerable age group on the continent. The group is able to move the development of the region into greater heights. For that reason, they need to have better skills and knowledge in various fields. We know very well that the African level of education is not at par with the other regions in the world. But there are notable step to ensure that everyone gets the desired education.
Governments are working hard to ensure that its citizen’s affordable education. Many organizations and startups have come up to ensure that the youthful populations get the desired attention. The recently launched Youth Entrepreneurship Expo aims at offering training and development programs for youths. The program which will run for a period of one-week targets youths between the ages of 16-35 years. The Expo will be of benefit to 33 young individuals from Robertson and its surroundings. The target individuals are those who are not employed, not in education or training (NEETs).
The Expo was launched on 9th April 2018 by Albert Fritz. Albert is a Western Cape Minister of Social Development. The launch also saw the presence of Cllr. Henry Jansen Langeberg Municipality Executive Mayo who joined the MEC for the launch.
The Expo will focus on developing soft and hard skills in business development, leadership, and entrepreneurship. The department aims at coming up with a generation that has confidence. It also aims at having a youthful population that relies on themselves at the time of their needs. This will take place in line with the Provincial Youth Development Strategy. The Expo will at no doubt help and engage those youths who have been idle. The population will now spend their time on constructive activities. This will be one of the best ways of getting the best out of this population.
