750 Millions New Smartphone Users in Africa by 2020

Share

TechInAfrica – Ericsson is predicting a huge surge of smartphone users in Africa by 2020, with more than 750 million new subscribers. Around the world, 70 percent of people will use smartphones and 90 percent of people will be covered by mobile broadband networks. With a booming population in Africa, that means that on an average, Africa will see around 400,000 new smartphones users per day for the next 5 years.

Yes, that’s huge! (just after the APAC zone, with a much bigger population than Africa).
