TechInAfrica – MTN Business Kenya has launched the MTN Managed Security as a service solution to its Kenyan enterprise customers. The solution is a response to the increased cases of cyber threats according to the Communications Authority of Kenya’s statistics report.

John Muraya, Senior Manager and Solutions Architect at MTN Business Kenya, noted: “One of the main headaches today for IT security teams is keeping up with the ever-increasing cyber threats and the rise in its sophistication. We have unveiled the MTN Managed Security because breaches are on the rise and organizations are looking for more automated, evergreen threat detection and remediation that is neither complicated nor involves heavy capital investments.”

With the solution, the company has become the first fully certified Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) in Kenya. The solution offers enterprises the option to secure their IT systems with a fully managed pay-as-you-go model. Additionally, it also gives security managers specialized skills and expertise that foster IT security.

“IT security has outgrown in-house teams and the future of survival belongs to the bold enterprises that will partner with MSSPs to secure their enterprises because while your teams take some rest every evening, aggressors are wide awake attempting attacks on your network from every angle,” said Duncan Omani, a Network Engineer at MTN.

Cyber threats attack many organizations around the globe. Accenture noted that a malware attack on a company cost $2.4 million on average while the most expensive of a cyber attack component is data loss that represents 43% of the costs.

The company will continue to release new solutions as part of its commitment to addressing cyber threats for its customers.
