African Development Bank to invest $150,000 grant funding in the Rwanda Coding Academy

The African Development Bank (AfDB) alongside Rwanda’s Ministry of ICT and Innovation has completed a grant agreement worth $150,000 (Rwf140 million) in support of the Rwanda Coding Academy.

The funds were dispatched from the Rockefeller Trust fund and run by AfDB in acquiring computers, furniture, and equipment for creating ultra-modern centers of excellence, teacher training, computers, internet connectivity, and other career orientation materials.

Rwanda coding academy began in 2019 with an aim of developing ICT skills for high school children with a desire to pursue a career in coding and computer science.
