Tik Tok has partnered with Gritti Fund to create the world’s first investment fund focused on a founder’s mental and physical performance. The Chinese video-sharing service has branded it as a #PitchUpInTheSky initiative.

The application window is closing on September 24, where African applicants are encouraged to apply here. Through their new partnership, the Gritti Fund hopes to clinch the ‘most live-streamed’ startup pitch ‘title’.

According to CGTN, Boniswa Sidwaba, Content Manager for TikTok Africa Team disclosed that early-stage start-up founders have a minute to make an innovative 1-minute Tik Tok video through the video-sharing app. If the pitch impresses the global panel of judges then you will get shortlisted.

Entrepreneurs will be competing for a $US10,000 and a 12-month long mentorship by the Gritti Fund. The top three finalists win an opportunity to skydive in United Arab Emirates’ Dubai, as they go about their elevator pitches.

The finale of the event will be on October 17 and is poised to be the most live-streamed start-up pitch event in modern history. Tik Tok users across the continent can view the pitches using the hashtag #PitchUpInTheSky.
