African Startups Encouraged To Apply For the Global Pitch Competition

Dealmatrix is an Australian based web platform. It majors in matching, scouting, and management of workflow for the businesses. The platform has invited startups from across the world to apply for the Global Pitch Competition. Dealmatrix targets all global startups that are sourcing for investors. There are different categories that are up for grab at the competition and they include;

Our Economy Category which includes production, distribution trade, and market

Our Clients category that includes government, smart cities, and smart homes

Our Planet Category that comprises of agriculture, renewable energy, sustainability and social impact

Our Body Category comprises of medical, healthcare, food, medical and well being

The competition has various prizes worth fighting for by startups. Global Pitch Golden Ticket awards give startups a chance to attend various conferences. The conferences include She Loves Tech, FinTech Talent, CODE-n, Rise Up, 4YFN and Bits&Pretzels. The overall winner of the Global Pitch awards together with winners from various categories will attend the 2018 Lisbon Investment Summit. Furthermore, they will have an entrance ticket to the WhatAVenture innovation platform for a period of three months.

Winners will also be shortlisted for the Menorca Millenial’s fourth deceleration program selection stage. Menorca Millenial is a group of investors, companies and business leaders. The group selects 30 global companies from many applicants annually. The companies are then taken to an island in the Mediterranean Sea to discuss their product and be able to access the global greatest tech leaders.

Vienna Startup Package is another award that is up for grab at the completion. The package helps the winner receive co-working space in Vienna, travel accommodation, business coaching and access to networks. Winners will also be introduced to the Viennese economy. This is more beneficial to startups with global solutions. African startups that offer Africa-centric solutions have minimal chances of winning the award.  Top 15 startups will have an access to pitch training. Furthermore, the overall winner will be given a trip to Silicon Valley.

Applications are ongoing and the deadline is on 22nd April 2018. The announcement of top 100 applicants will be made on 4th May followed by the announcement of finalists on 16th May. The online pitches will happen on 22nd May.
