Africar Group was the first classified platform to launch its operations in Sub-Saharan Africa. The group has gone ahead to become number one car marketplace in Africa. It has also set up its activities in 30 different African states hence availing its services to over 600 million people. Africar Group offers a platform where African customers can buy and sell trucks, cars, and motorbikes. They can do that at a faster rate compared to any other marketplace. Furthermore, the group offers a safe market with better pricing of products.

The increase in internet penetration and social media in the region has played a critical role in the growth of the group. It has used the platforms in its service deliveries. Africar Group started as a startup, and it has since then grown to be an industry leader. It has received the support of investors offering it three funding rounds. Moreover, the group has received the support of more than 100 professionals. It has also received the support of agents and operators in 30 upcoming markets excluding the Maghreb and South Africa. The group has now set up its full operations in its headquarters in Sydney Australia.

According to the company’s co-founder Axel Peyriere, Africa has the largest growth in the usage of internet and social media globally. The group is maximizing on that to become the leading automotive marketplace in Africa. He added that the group has above 2 million followers on various social media platforms across the 30 countries. He said that the group is revolutionizing way on how Africans are trading. The group received the support of many institutional and private investors from Europe and Australia. It carried out its last fundraising at the end of 2017. The fundraising placed it at the first position classifies in the automotive sector in the region.

Africar Group has inroads in Burundi in Central Africa, Zimbabwe in Southern Africa, Ethiopia in East Africa and West African based Senegal. It also integrates over 12 local languages that include, Shona, Amharic, Somali, Malagasy, Swahili, Yoruba, Hausa, Wolof, Sesotho, Setswana, Kinyarwanda and many others. The group is looking forward to eliminating all intermediaries and bring transparency in trade.  The platform users can search and browse many cars in the 30 countries from different models and makes. The most preferred cars in Africa are Nissan, Hyundai, and Toyota but users can find Bentley and Porsche cars.
