Tech in Africa
After hosting a successful annual 2020 summit on investment, entrepreneurship, and investment in Cape Town South Africa, through the AfricArena Air platform and AfricArena Wired innovative mobile app, AfricArena has announced the dates for a two-day summit at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Dakar on June 22 and 23.
AfricArena will host the two-day conference in partnership with DER/FJ (Délégation Générale à l’Entreprenariat Rapide des Femmes et des Jeunes, Senegal Government), and ITC United Nations under the #FastTrackTech Africa project.
A pitch event will take place a day prior to the 2-day summit where select startups will participate in a days-long Bootcamp facilitated by the Impact Hub Dakar, a local incubator. Parallel to this bootcamp will be an exclusive invite-only West Africa Investor Unconference for leading VCs and startup investors drawn from across West Africa. The event will feature workshops and discussions centered on co-investing and how to simplify investments in tech startups.
In 2021, AfricArena will host four hybrid events across Africa’s four regions building up to the annual AfricArena Summit held in Cape Town. The regional events bring together investors, startups, and corporations operating in the region. Over 20 startups are due to pitch at the Dakar event.
The events not only adds a wealth of experience and networking opportunities to the region’s ecosystem but also acts as a semi-final pitch session. Select startups will have the chance to pitch at the Grand Summit due for December 2021 in Cape Town.

AfricArena is an African tech ecosystem accelerator that hosts both live and digital events purposefully to accelerate the growth of tech startups within the ecosystem in which they operate through a platform where they can share their business models, attain funding and gain valuable networks.
