TechInAfrica – Audi has launched VR experience for customer consultation at the dealership, giving customers realistic experience in configuring a car down to the last detail. In additions, it offers customers the opportunity to experience extraordinary moments virtually.
In South Africa, Audi has launched a virtual reality-enabled Audi Customer Private Lounge (CPL) at Audi Centre Centurion in Gauteng. The technology offers an innovative, digital, and retail solutions that allow customers to customize the Audi according to their choice. To date, there are over 400 Audi CPL used in Audi dealership around the world.
The technology also enables customers to have a one-to-one engagement to a sales consultant in a digital, premium, and intimate environment. Through the Audi screen, a sales consultant will present the whole Audi model range, like equipment options, color combinations, packages, and specifications during the customer-sales dialog.
Trevor Hill, Head of Audi SA, remarked: “Digitalization is a key part of Audi’s global corporate strategy and the CPL is a great example of this.
He added, “It’s a great opportunity to introduce this form of innovation and technology within the South African automotive industry and to have progressive Dealer partners such as Audi Centre Centurion, who have presented a truly premium retail experience for Audi customers.”
The VR technology set in Audi CPL allows customers to experience Audi moments which associate with customers’ expectations when buying a car. For example, they can virtually experience the atmosphere of the Le Mans 24 Hours race, experience the endurance race.
According to Audi, the CPL concept is expected to roll out to more dealerships across South Africa within the coming years. Currently, the fully VR-enabled experience is available to Audi customers at Audi Centre Centurion, at 1016 Lenchen Avenue North, Centurion, Gauteng.
