Aurecon Brings Visual Design Technology Solutions to Africa

Share

TechInAfrica – Aurecon, a global engineering and design company, announced on Tuesday, 27 August 2019, that Unsigned Studio – which is an Aurecon subsidiary and visual communication agency – will launch throughout Africa. The initiative mainly aims to offer Unsigned Studio’s immersive and interactive visual communication skills to local talent.

“Our goal is to provide better outcomes, through visualisation, on how we communicate and operationalise major infrastructure or environment projects”, said Selvan Murugan, Digital Practice Leader at Aurecon.

“We look forward to showing project stakeholders in Africa, including governments, investors and the public, the vision of their projects through creative technology and visualisation. By bringing storytelling and technology together, we aim at helping put everyone on the same page by breaking down complex ideas into beautifully simple, accessible and immersive formats.”

“The benefit of using our 3D models and project information – combined with interactive visualisation technology – is the multiple use cases starting from simulation, training, operating and facilities management for our customers,” adds Murugan.

Unsigned Studio has a team of 30+ professionals with backgrounds ranging from architecture, animation and computer-generated imagery (CGI) to film and community engagement. Its team  brings over 15 years’ creative experience to Aurecon and offer a full suite of production services including video, animations, films, digital apps and physical installations. They work alongside Aurecon’s technical experts and clients to create digital assets that help with the understanding of complex problems in new ways.

“Creative digital technology allows the user to walk through several design options, experience a design from the end user’s perspective and evaluate whether a design is fit for purpose. These technologies offer real benefits across the entire project, from design and construction through to asset management and operations”, stated Visualisation Specialist at Unsigned Studio, Murray Walker.

“Just imagine testing a new intersection by driving a virtual car or collecting community feedback on tablets that show community members in a rich 3D environment. We are embedding visualisation as part of our design process – it is simply the way we communicate with each other, our clients, and the people of Africa,” concludes Walker.
