The 2018 Nairobi Innovation week (NIW) which will be held from March 5 to 9, 2018 will have 100 applicants. The successful innovators who will then qualify to be among the 15 top startups will receive awards of recognition. Nairobi Innovation Week program which began in 2015 has successfully brought various stakeholders from the government, research centers, and private sectors. The program allows innovators to showcase their ideas to the attendants.
The best startup with innovative health idea will receive mentorship and $10,000 from Vilgro Kenya. Besides, the startup access various healthcare networks to propel their ideas to advanced levels. The initial application had seen 32 startups applying for healthcare category. However, only 14 qualified for the final competition.
The best health startup will also access funding from the Kenyan government. Vilgro in partnership with Vilgro innovations Foundation helps startups that address global health problems. Vilgro Kenya has 30 years’ experience in entrepreneurship related to the healthcare sector.
