Beyond Capital Ventures (BCV), which recently disclosed the complete closure of its venture capital fund for emerging markets, is pleased to announce a partnership with Impact Investors Inc., a provider of financial planning and advisory services with a focus on sustainable and ethical impact investing.

Both organizations are working toward the same objective, which is to drive investments toward companies that, by using a gender lens, they can improve the quality of life for emerging consumers in India and Africa.

The fund received a $1 million investment from Impact Investors Inc. to help Beyond Capital Ventures accomplish its final close on November 30, 2022. As an early supporter and defender of the Beyond Capital Ventures team as an anchor investor in the fund’s initial closure, Impact Investors Inc.

“Impact Investors Inc. has always been a proactive and committed partner. Our company was truly ignited by their early anchor investment, and Monica Miller and her colleagues have provided us with great assistance ever since,” remarked by Eva Yazhari, general partner of Beyond Capital Ventures. “Our companies share the conviction that business can and should be a force for lasting influence. Together, we’ll make investments in future business leaders who will bring about change and make essential services more accessible in India and Africa.

Investors received a clear message from Impact Investors Inc.’s early investment. They join the more than 70 Limited Partners who have backed Beyond Capital Ventures, enabling it to begin the next phase of its existence: building a broad portfolio of early-stage businesses in India and Africa that provide access to essential goods and services.

If the business has a cutting-edge, scalable business model with real benefit baked in, this includes healthcare, financial inclusion, and climate adaptation solutions.

Additionally, Impact Investors Inc. is dedicated to supporting the subsequent generation of female fund managers. The balanced leadership team at Beyond Capital Ventures is advancing gender equality not only inside the team but also across the portfolio, pipeline, and beyond.

In the world, venture funds with female partners account for less than 10%.

“It has been difficult to get direct impact exposure to Africa and India that is also financially responsible. With its decade of experience in these areas and extensive due diligence process with portfolio firms, Beyond Capital Ventures is an exceptional manager, according to Monica Miller, Portfolio Manager and Partner, Private Assets at Impact Investors Inc.

Seven early-stage businesses are serving the needs of emerging economies thereby, expanding populations make up Beyond Capital’s current portfolio. The platforms include Kasha, an African centralized digital platform for women’s health and personal care products, Lal10, an online wholesale marketplace for Indian artisans and small business owners, Viebeg Medical, a data-driven healthcare logistics platform, and XENO, a goal-based investment platform. CarePoint is a tech-forward healthcare asset acquirer and operator. Frontier Markets is a last-mile distribution platform.
