TechInAfrica – The early-stage investor DFS lab collaboration with Stellar Development Foundation (SDF) is inviting all startups in Africa on a 3-day Blockchain Bootcamp to showcase their blockchain solutions. Startups will have to design their solution on the open-source blockchain network, Stellar. They will receive DFS Lab and SDF support in creating and assessing their solutions.

The first step for the startups is analyzing a problem, followed by a storyboard of potential solutions, and a follow-up of rapid prototypes to present to the judges.

Winners will stand a chance to win 5,000 to 20,000 USDC.

The bootcamp will take place from 28-30 September 2021. Participants may explore one of the following viable use cases as written on the official website:

Cross-border or multi-currency payments

  • Business payments for high-cost corridors
  • Reimagining remittances and reducing friction

Access to financial services

  • Safeguarding value
  • Multi-currency savings and yield-earning accounts
  • Tokenized assets
  • Investing in securities

Other use cases

  • Financial inclusion in emerging markets
  • Banking
  • Payment processing
  • Lending
  • Payroll
  • Treasury management

The demo day, which will proceed on 1 October 2021, will be attended by investors from SDF’s Enterprise Fund among others. Participants can then aim for additional grants on that day.
