Schoolz, a school kids transportation startup has raised a 6-figure pre-seed funding round from both Egypt and Saudi Arabia investors. The Schoolz App uses technology to track the movement of kids from the moment they leave for school to their arrival back at home.
Schoolz was founded in 2020 by Abdel Monsef Ismail, Hosni Ahmed, and Ayman Hamza as an app offering safe and comfortable transportation services for children through the tracking app, supervisors in each vehicle, pre-screened and qualified drivers, live cameras that allow parents to monitor the children, and other follow-up notifications on pick-up and drop-off – all at competitive package prices.
In the press release, Hosni Ahmed the co-founder and CEO of Schoolz said that the funds will launch the app for businesses in a previous trial not forgetting the launch of Schoolz cloud services across Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
Hosni, the app’s CEO described the app as a great opportunity for the children and student transportation market in and out of Egypt. He revealed that testing began during the height of the coronavirus pandemic and achieved great results.
Schoolz also plans to channel the investment towards pumping funds in the business growth of student transportation besides the launch of Schoolz for Business where this service looks to transport employees to work within the Giza governorate and Cairo. Also launched was the SAAS (Software-as-a-service) allowing schools and other companies to use this technology infrastructure tools independently.
Co-founder Abdel-Monsef Ismail pointed out the company’s mission to provide safe and affordable transportation at the best prices. He further revealed that the service was in need by parents based on their feedback after its launch in Giza and Cairo. The two governorates contain over 2 million students from both international and private schools – a segment Schoolz is currently fixated on. The market segment Schoolz plans to serve is estimated at 16 billion pounds.
