TechInAfrica – A total of 1,826 respondents participate in Consulta’s latest South African Customer Satisfaction Index (SAcsi) report medical scheme with the best services in 2020.
Consumers are divided between high prices and the practices in the field that compromiase the quality or not.
The conducted survey collects overall satisfaction of SA’s biggest open medical scheme providers, such as Bestmed, Bonitas, Discovery, Medihelp, and Momentum, and one closed medical scheme GEMS due to its prominent membership among government employees.
“With concerns about health care right up there with the economy’s state and the ability to earn an income, consumers are reluctant to cut their medical scheme contributions,” Consulta said.
“Combined with an expectation that there will be a substantial increase in healthcare expenses and spend on medicines, consumers’ expectations of the value of every rand spent on medical scheme contributions are increasing.”
The trends observed aren’t much different than the 2019 report, as each medical schemes come on par, with Bestmed (77.4), Medihelp (77.1), Discovery (76.8), and Bonitas (74.9), with the overall customer satisfaction scores of 76.1
