TechInAfrica – The design hub Pixelsmith Studios from Cape Town has launched a digital marketplace for illustrators and designers.
The plan is to more expansion in the coming future, and to include more digital creators in the upcoming months.
Artists can get one year free of sign-up, and 90% of shares will belong to the artists.
Founder Ruan Smit said, “There’s not currently a beneficial place where South African creatives can promote and sell their work.”
We wanted to create a site where we could empower designers in SA to sell designs and services to an international audience.”
Founders Smit, Matt Davidson, and Neal Strydom created the website in 2010 for tech reviews, networking connections, local and international artist interviews, up-and-coming digital creatives, including animators, illustrators, VFX artists, and game developers.
The digital marketplace will not affect the website’s former purpose of self-promotion, networking, and job opportunities. Members can join the Pixelsmith Studios community on Discord as well.
