Wisinomad is a startup formed through the partnership of international group from Botswana. Another group came from the Netherlands, Peru, Zimbabwe, Portugal, and Denmark. The group had initially worked together at StartupBus Africa. But StartupBus, later on, changed to AMPION. Wisinomad was formed with an aim of helping rural working professionals and digital nomads. The two are offered a chance to taste the growth of the African tech space.

Africa as a continent is undergoing a rapid economic growth. This leads to a massive flow of venture capital financing to African startups. The group wants to practically have a taste of what is going on in the continent. This is because they are a team of startup founders and VCs on their own. However, the startup will carry out a three-month tour that will kick off in Nairobi on 2nd April 2018. This will be followed by a tour in Botswana in May and Rwanda will come last in June 2018.

Wisinomad offers nomads a clear picture of the African innovative ecosystem. It also pays a visit to the local companies to have a look at their progress and to hear part of their stories. Moreover, it has collaborated with tech hubs where they hold realistic talks. The topic of discussion is what decides on whom to lead the talks. At times the leadership is given to local people or nomads depending on the main interest and the topic of the day.

The startup gives nomads an opportunity to experience life on the other side of the coin. The nomads do this as they go on with their daily routine. Currently, there are very many remote-working traveling companies. However, a small number of them have an interest in Africa. Therefore Wisinomad wants to bridge the wide gap. The founders realized the wide gap in Africa. This came after they participated in such trips in South Africa and Europe.

Wisinomad does its own funding by itself and they are not planning to have investment this soon. The people within the company’s network have been important in its funding. Furthermore, the company has strong networks operating incubators in Berlin and San Francisco. The company is relying on the fact that many people overseas do not have any information about Africa. However, the company has clients from all age group and with any type of job experience. The company closes during the weekends to have a traveling experience.
