The TMT Finance Africa 2018 conference that brings together the main players in telecom, media and technology, investment banks, private equity companies and regulators, is here! Giant firms have confirmed attendance; Standard Bank, IFC World bank, Liquid Telecom, Dark Fibre Africa, Uber, Tata communication Transformation Services (TCTS) and many more. Exhibiting will be companies like Nokia, Huawei, Jumia among others

Gracing the event will be over 70 speakers; a list yet to be released by the organizers. Discussions shall be based on digital transformation and partnerships, business models for network infrastructure, M&A, and B2B and B2C convergence. This shall be covered through keynote speeches and leadership panel debates. Breakout sessions will focus on broadband leadership, mobile payments and Fintech, media and content, enterprise cloud and datacenters, regulation and spectrum, and Digital Africa.

Just like other major telecom operators across the world, African operators intend to juggle through various demanding priorities.

In the year ahead, TMT Finance highlights the key priorities of African telecom operators; heightening of digital transformation strategies, entrenching emerging technologies alongside investing in new wireless and fixed network infrastructure.

The Managing Editor and Events Director of TMT, Mr. Nice Ben referenced to earlier documentation and cited reduction in traditional voice and messaging service revenues with contrary pressure to work big CapEx spend into new network infrastructure toppling the balance sheets. “The business model of a core telco is debatable, and those at the top have to make essential decisions on where to place a decision regarding the future earnings and relevant technologies and at the same time, evaluate how to undergo hugely complex digital transformation projects,” lamented Ben.

The dynamics and trends in the telecom, media and technology field are what the conference seeks to dissect offering better solutions to consumers and business thrive.
