TechInAfrica – The Nigerian HealthTeach startup Doctoora, has been named the winner of the #NES25 Startups Pitch Competition, bringing home an N5 million of cash prize. The startup was founded in 2016 by Dr. Debo Odulana with the aim of creating Africa’s healthier communities, connect healthcare consumers with professionals.
Besides Doctoora, there were three other startups that made it to the top 4 of the NES 25 Startups Pitch Competition. They were Tiny Hearts Technology, Gricd Services Limited, and Loystar.
Tiny Hearts Technology is a HealthTech startup focusing on preventing infants’ deaths from curable conditions. It was named the first runner-up of the competition and received an N3 million. Meanwhile, Gricd Services Limited won the Audience Choice Award.
The NES 25 Startups Pitch Competition is part of the Annual Nigerian Economic Summit held by the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) in collaboration with the Federal Government of Nigeria through the Federal Ministry of Budget and National Planning, Sterling Bank Plc, and others.
Doctoora emerged as the winner of the NES 25 Startups Summit Pitch Competition, defeating the other nine finalists. The startup not only connects healthcare professionals with consumers for better healthcare experiences but also rents healthcare amenities and technology to health experts within its networks. By doing this, Doctoora wants to help them manage their practice seamlessly.
