Doreen Mashinini Apointed as the GM Marketing of Ford for South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa

TechInAfrica – Ford Motor Company has named Doreen Mashinini as its General Manager Marketing for South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa. The appointment of Mashinini is taking over Tracey Delate who is currently serving as General Manager, Consumer, and Dealer Experience.

With her current position, Mashinini will be responsible for marketing and advertising strategies of Ford, as well as reports to Conrad Groenewald, Director of Marketing, Sales & Service.

Mashini has worked for Ford for almost two decades. She started her career in Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa from 2000 to 2014.

Having asked about her feeling about her appointment, Mashinini said: “I am excited to be back home where my motor industry journey began 18 years ago. It is a great honor to be given the opportunity to be part of the Ford brand revitalization with the exceptional new product range, and I look forward to working with this fantastic team once again.”

Mashinini began with Fleet Business Manager in 2000 and after two years, she took a position as District Sales Manager. Two years after becoming a District

Sales Manager of Ford, she was chosen as Mazda Brand Manager at Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa until 2014.

In 2014, Mazda Southern Africa had become an identity. Mashinini joined with the new company and teamed up with the Marketing and Communications division. At the beginning of October this year, Mashinini returned to Ford and soon to be the new General Manager Marketing of Ford for Southern Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa.

Speaking of her educational background, Mashinini obtained a B-Comm Degree from the University of Durban Westville in 1996. She earned her High Diploma in Marketing in 2000 and MBL in Marketing and Strategy in 2006 from the University of South Africa (UNISA).
