TechInAfrica – Digital Satellite Television, or usually known as DStv is a direct broadcast satellite service from Sub-Saharan Africa owned by MultiChoice. This television service was officially launched by Owen Martin in 2014. It provides a variety of channels and services for more than 18,9 million subscribers.
The majority of DStv subscribers are in South Africa and Nigeria. In addition, some other countries such as Kenya, Ghana, Angola, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Uganda, Mauritius, Mozambique, Malawi, Tanzania, Lesotho, Ethiopia, the Republic of the Congo, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Gabon, Swaziland and Botswana are also served by the company.
DStv also provides the mobile app, DStv Now for mobile and tablet devices, come together with PC to manage the DVRs and parental controls as well as allowing access to recorded content and video on demand services.
Now, DStv launched a new offer for its customers, called ‘Add Movies’. This offer will allow Compact Plus, Compact, Family and Access customers to register for DStv’s devoted movie channels which were only available to Premium subscribers before. This new offer will be available on M-Net Movies 1, M-Net Movies 2 and fliekNet for an additional R99 per month.
The entertainment company says that Add Movies provides more choice and control for DStv subscribers to organize their entertainment needs, including the flexibility to add on this service from month-to-month.
