Egypt food delivery platform Otlob rebranding to Talabat

Otlob, the successful Egyptian food delivery company is rebranding to Talabat. The announcement was made by Talabat on Wednesday. This ongoing transformation goes into full effect by September 1st.

Talabat plans to create 50,000 freelance rider jobs this 2020. The jobs are part of its expansive services and significant investments across the country. The expansion of Talabat aligns with the Digital Transformation Initiative kickstarted by the Egyptian government. Talabat now operates in 26 cities across Egypt serving a target market of 55 million Egyptians. Otlob was acquired by Talabat in 2017.

Tomaso Rodriguez, the CEO of Talabat intends to retain Otlob’s rich Egyptian legacy. In a statement, he describes Otlob and the entire team as an Egyptian success story. We are hugely proud of all of the talent that has had a role in Otlob’s success since its inception in 1999, and are excited to continue this journey together, working as one team

Sofiène Marzouki, Otlob’s Managing Director sees customer experience as a top priority moving forward. In her statement, she revealed plans to add 2000 more restaurants to the platform. That should increase the variety in price and taste for customers, “What’s more, we’re going to offer some of the most affordable meals that you can find via a 30 EGP meal deal! 

Part of the brand’s new experience will involve a new-look app with a clean look that offers an excellent user experience.
