Egypt healthtech startup Estshara raises $500K seed funding

Cairo-based Estshara, a healthtech and teleconsultations startup has completed a $500K seed funding round led by Egypt Ventures (A multi-stage Egypt-focused investment vehicle). The new round sets Etshara on the map of promising healthcare startups in emerging markets.

Estshara was founded in 2018 by Ahmed Mahmoud and Amin El-Hemaily. This online platform offers healthcare consultations and telepharmacy services with over 200,000 consultations to date. The healthtech looks to utilize the funds in expanding its customer base from the current 2 million to 6 million and further develop its offering and customer care activities.

Ahmed Gomaa, Chairman & CEO of Egypt Ventures expressed excitement in Estshara’s contribution to the “digital transformation and financial inclusion in the Egyptian market.”

Dr. Amin Elhemaily, the CEO of Estshara says the investment will help scale the company with “exceptional talent and enhanced resources.”
