Egyptian-based FMCG company ILLA is a delivery logistics marketplace has completed a 6-figure seed funding round of $500K with participation from AUC Angels, Averroes, and a consortium of local and strategic investors with a follow-on pipeline of funding from Flat6Labs Cairo.
ILLA was launched in March 2019, via the Flat6Labs Cairo accelerator where they received business support. After running beta mode operations for 8 months they banked on feedback from pilot clients who grew in their portfolio, some of whom have become household names.
ILLA caters to SMEs, corporations, and other transport and logistic solutions. Innovations around logistics are challenging that is why ILLA has a vantage position capturing the local and regional market shares as they are specialized and in a great position to innovate in this industry. ILLA operates across 24 Egyptian Governorates, handling over 7 million cases, spanning 3 million kilometers.
The funding will help the company cement it’s position as a leader in FCMG delivery logistics. ILLA intends to leverage on its leadership positioning as the delivery logistics arm of FMCG companies and SMEs. Adoption of tech technology is transformation for ILLA enabling clients to manage their fleets seamlessly while running elaborate analytics and marketing insights.
Mahmoud El- Zomor is the CEO & co-founder of ILLA, and has a background in the distribution industry holding several positions in multinationals like Clorox and CocaCola. Alaa Jarkas is the co-founder and Commercial Director, while Ahmed Sakr is the COO and co-founder. Hossam Saraya is the company’s CTO and co-founder.
