Eliud Kipchoge, world marathon record holder sells career milestone NFT at 17.98 ETH

Eliud Kipchoge, the world-renowned famous marathoner has sold out his first set of  NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens) at 17.9837 ETH, from OpenSea, NFT marketplace for crypto collectibles and rare digital items.

Kipchoge is one of the greatest marathoners alive and among the first humans in history to complete a sub-two-hour marathon run as part of the 2019 INEOS 1:59 Challenge held in Vienna. His NFTs comprise digital representations of his career milestones on the Ethereum blockchain that are digitally signed and officially approved by the athlete himself.

Eliud’s NFT was supported by Momentible.io, a platform that collects NFT collectibles, capturing the legendary moments of musicians and athletes, while giving them a chance to immortalize their achievements as NFTs. Each NFT is marked with a special serial number providing limited scarcity and protects ownership on the blockchain. The winner of this auction received high-quality artwork accompanied by a personal video message.

Eliud Kipchoge is a legend by all standards. He was the first person in history to complete 26.2 miles in under 2 hours in Vienna, Austria. Since he made a career debut, he has participated in 13 marathons, winning 12. He also has a world record time at the 2018 Berlin marathon.
