Elloe, a conversational e-commerce firm, has announced that it has acquired Flo by Saada, a Kenyan social commerce startup established by Gershon Mwaniki. The amount of the acquisition was not announced publicly.
The social commerce firm that was just bought makes it possible for small and medium-sized businesses to construct conversational commerce solutions and process payments over USSD, voice, WhatsApp Business, and programmable SMS.
Flo by Saada was developed to assist businesses in their efforts to adapt to the growing prevalence of instant messaging as the primary method of communication.
Gershon said in a press release that was shared with TechCabal that the app will be used “both to connect with family and friends and to get instant, personal, and attentive experiences from brands.” “On the client roster for Flo by Saada are organizations such as Telkom Kenya, Quick Bus, and Oxfam, in addition to other businesses in the entertainment, retail, customer experience, entertainment, hospitality, and travel industries.
Elloe will incorporate the technology to complement its existing portfolio of messaging services with a packaged offering driven by artificial intelligence. The team from Flo by Saada will join Elloe’s product and engineering group based in Kenya.
Owen Sakawa, the CEO of Elloe and its founder, provided TechCabal with a written statement regarding the acquisition. Since its inception, Elloe has placed a strong emphasis on social commerce, and forming essential relationships with Flo by Saada represents a significant step in expanding our business.
